Kölner Permacoll Size is a permanent adhesive size for use with genuine gold and silver leaf.
Permacoll offers much more flexibility than traditional oil sizes with their long drying times and short working times. Permacoll dries quickly, within 15 - 30 minutes, and is receptive to metal leaf for hours or even days later.
This product can be used on directly onto smooth or textured non-porous surfaces, such as painted wood or plastics, and can be used on porous surfaces such as plaster or bare wood with appropriate sealing of the surface. Permacoll can be used on glossy surfaces, provided the surface has been scuffed up to provide a key. Kölner Permacoll Size is ideal for making decorative gilded picture frames, ornaments, window displays and set decoration in theatre and film.
Please Note: Kölner Permacoll Size is not burnishable and is only suitable for interior use.
We recommend using Permacoll as is, straight from the bottle with no additional thinning with water. It is also recommended to stir, and not shake, the product prior to use in order to avoid getting air bubbles in the product.Coverage: approx. 15 - 20m2 per litre.
