Copper Leaf Booklets

Loose copper leaf sits loosely between thin rouged paper sheets in the booklet. It has to be picked up using a gilders knife or piece of card (sliding underneath the leaf) or you can carefully pick it up between fingertips (although we recommend using cotton gloves if doing this as oils in your skin can cause tarnish on the copper) before being offered up to a sized surface to gild onto moulded, carved and embellished areas.

Transfer copper leaf is the same gold leaf but pressed onto a backing sheet of acid free tissue paper. It is generally used for gilding onto flatter surfaces such as walls & ceilings. It is placed face down onto the surface of the tacky size, rubbing over the back of the tissue paper to release the leaf.
