Kölner Leaf Protect - 500ml

Kölner Leaf Protect is a high-performance acrylic varnish specifically designed to seal and protect imitation metal leaf from oxidation and light wear. Developed by Kölner, this innovative formula ensures that metals such as copper and imitation gold remain untarnished without causing discoloration or altering their original appearance. It dries to a clear, semi-gloss finish that preserves the leaf’s natural lustre while providing a durable, protective layer.

Fast-drying and easy to clean with soap and warm water, Kölner Leaf Protect can be applied by brush, polyester roller, or spray equipment. For brush applications, Kölner synthetic bristle brushes are recommended for smooth, even coverage. Depending on conditions, the varnish dries within 1 to 4 hours, with a recoat time of approximately 1 hour. With a coverage rate of 15m² per litre, it offers excellent efficiency for large projects.

While Kölner Leaf Protect provides reliable protection against light wear, for a more durable finish, it can be used as an isolating varnish before applying additional coats of hard-wearing acrylic varnishes. This makes it a superb alternative to Universal Lacquer.
