Kölner Instacoll Base is an adhesive agent for interior and exterior gilding of gold and silver leaf. It can be brushed or sprayed onto non-porous, or primed porous surfaces to create fantastic gilt finishes with a shine that exceeds anything you can do with an acrylic-based or oil-based size!

- Unmatched Shine: The finish you get from Instacoll is close to a water-gilded one but much easier and quicker to apply! When properly applied and polished with an Instacoll tissue you can even make the lines between leaves varnish, leaving a truly seamless looking gilt finish!

Coverage: approx. 10m2 per litre
Instacoll Base can be applied with brush or spray equipment. After allowing to dry (for up to an hour), the Base is receptive for gilding for up to an hour. If the Instacoll Base dries completely then it can reactivate it with Instacoll Activator. Apply a thin and even layer of Instacoll Activator over the base and after a few minutes the surface is ready for gilding again. A surface can be reactivated many times using Instacoll Activator. It is important to only apply the leaf when the surface is dry. Always avoid getting Instacoll Activator onto the leaf itself.
