This high grade gelatin is superior to any other gelatin out there for glass gilding. The gelatin in the sheet has higher strength and more purity compared to any other gelatin capsule or sheet available. For bright gilds on glass you'll only need around 2 diamonds for each pint of water.
The gelatin couldn't be simpler to use, when working with gold just cut out two diamonds and place them in a pint of purified or distilled warm water for about 30 minutes, until the diamonds bloom and dissolve. For heavier metals such as silver, or copper, try using 3-4 diamonds per pint of water.
To prepare your water size just like the Goldfather himself then he recommends preparing the size on a stovetop before leaving for the job. Slightly heat some water in a clean saucepan that's solely used for making size before taking it off the heat. Then add the gelatin diamonds as needed and allow them to bloom and dissolve. Once they're gone slowly heat up the water, stirring with a spoon all the while until the water is foamy and hot. Take care not to let the water come to a boil, this will drastically reduce the strength of the gilding water.
Once prepared this way you can decant the mix into a glass container, taking care with it as it will be hot! Size prepared this way will last several hours, possibly longer, even at room temperature!
