Libéron Gilt Cream is a solvent-based metallic finishing paste designed for the restoration and creation of gilt effects on interior decorative surfaces. It provides strong pigmentation, good adhesion, and excellent control on detailed or textured substrates.

Application

  1. Surface Preparation: Substrate must be clean, dry and dust-free. Seal porous surfaces with an appropriate base (e.g., Liberon Fontenay Base).
  2. Application Method: Apply sparingly using a soft cloth or fine brush. Thin coats provide optimal control on detailed profiles.
  3. Drying: Allow a minimum of 4 hours before handling; full cure develops with extended drying.
  4. Finishing: Leave as applied or buff lightly to increase metallic reflectivity.
  5. Distressing (Optional): Use 0000-grade wire wool to create aged or worn effects.
  6. Cleanup: Clean tools with white spirit or turpentine. Product can be reconditioned with solvent if thickened.
