Standard Bronze Powders are fine metallic powders made from a blend of copper and zinc, offering a rich, metallic finish for a variety of decorative applications. Unlike true bronze, these powders will tarnish over time if left unprotected, making it essential to seal them with a protective topcoat or lacquer to maintain their brilliance.
Ideal for use in paints, pastes, and flash gilding, these powders can be applied directly onto a tacky, sized surface with a brush or by sprinkling. They can also be mixed with various mediums to create custom metallic finishes:
• Ormoline Paint Medium – Mix 25g of powder with 120ml of medium.
• Gilt Wax Medium – Blend in equal parts for a non-tarnishing, buffable finish.
• Easy Gild Bronze Medium – Use a 10:1 ratio of medium to powder.
For water-based mediums, use the mixture within a couple of days to prevent oxidation. Ensure proper sealing to preserve the rich metallic sheen.
