Milk Paint -The Furniture Paint With Soul.
Milk has long been used as the basis for paint - when mixed with lime pigments, it forms a paint that was prized at the time for its tough flat finish. Unfortunately, because of it's milk base the paint would soon go off and spoil! Nowadays General Finishes Milk Paints offer an environmentally-friendly acrylic alternative designed to give a similar finish to old milk-based paint as possible with none of the hassle – you don't have to keep these paints in the fridge!
General Finishes Milk Paints are fabulously adaptable, UV-resistant and can be used both indoors and out. Used on its own, Milk Paint dries to a matt sheen with a very silky-soft texture that ages and distresses gracefully. General Finishes Milk Paint is easy to use and can be applied with a brush (synthetic hair or foam brushes are best), by using a paint-pad or sprayed on.
You can mix it, lighten it, distress it, glaze it or antique it to create finishes that are totally unique and by using Glaze Effects you can easily create a range of decorative finishes such as distressing, antiquing, marble effects, rag-rolling or colour-washing.
For occasional furniture the surface can be left to age on its own but in high traffic areas, we recommend using one of the associated Top Coats such as the Polyacrylic Blend or High Performance.
Milk Paints can be used on their own or mixed with any other product in the General Finishes water-based line – it's perfect for turning that tired, old piece of a furniture a makeover!
Please note:
- Use only at room temperature
- Don't use furniture painted with Milk Paint for at least a week after painting
