Professional quality gilders knives from Kölner. The sharp, double-edged blade is made from high-grade, polished stainless steel and is designed for cutting gold and other metal leaf on gilders cushions. The handle is wooden and is riveted securely to the blade.
- The blade should be carefully cleaned with isopropyl alcohol using a soft lint-free cotton cloth to degrease it, prior to any use. This should be repeated any time the knife becomes dirty.
- Avoid touching the blade of the knife to keep it free of oils and grease which may cause gold leaf to stick to it.
- If the knife becomes dull you can sharpen it using 400 grit sandpaper.
