Gelatine Capsules, Leaf & Size

Gelatine is most frequently used in reverse glass gilding ( verre eglomise ), and is used as the adhesive to bond the leaf to the glass surface. The gelatine is dissolved into warm water and then the mixture is brushed onto the glass. The leaf is then floated on the water which then evaporates, pulling the leaf down onto the glass to give a high-gloss finish.

Gelatine (in the Concentrated Size form) is infrequently used as a replacement for rabbit-skin glue in certain applications.

Instructions for mixing rations of gelatin and water can be found on individual product pages.
