Metal Effects - Reactive - Copper - 177ml Ref: 900/18-0149
These paints are water-based and contain real metal particles. They will tarnish naturally over time and when exposed to the elements. Patina Ageing Solutions and Rust Activator will speed up the oxidisation process to create a beautiful, authentic patina or rusted iron finish on any paintable surface. Once patinated with green or blue patina this finish does not need any protection as it will continue to oxidise gradually. If the surface is to be handled (i.e. handrails, etc.) and it requires protection with advise one coat of diluted Permacoat Extreme in a 50/50 mix with water. Then add one coat of Exterior Dead Flat Varnish to bring the sheen back down to matte. If the product is being used to paint a metal that is likely to rust or a wood that contains tannic acids then Metal Effects Primer is recommended as it is a specially formulated primer, designed to stop acids leaching into Metal Effects paint and ruining the finish.
