An orange/red resin obtained from the fruit of an Asiatic tree. Dragon's Blood is soluble in alcohol and is used to give a ruby tone to laquer or clear shellac and can be used to create tonal effects over gold leaf. Stains quite strongly and when added to Gamboge it makes an excellent gold colour to be used over white metal leaf.
