Liquid Metal Acrylics - Solid Silver - 5L Ref: 209/23/5000
Roberson Liquid Metals Acrylics have a rich, deep colour, ideal for a wide range of applications and surfaces e.g plaster, wood, paper, canvas. The paints give the appearence of metals but will not tarnish and do not need to be varnished. Solid Silver is not intermixable with other metallic paints in this range due to it's composition containing aluminium particles, all other colours are freely intermixable.
The colour range is superb and the product is ideal for both small craft-based projects, frames, furniture and also large interior design projects.
Coverage is approximately 7-8 square meters per litre. Two coats are required for most applications but if applied to walls or ceilings with a roller or a brush then three or four coats are recommended. Because of the highly reflective nature of the metallic paint when applying with a roller to a large area apply the paint evenly in long vertical strokes, finishing off the surface by rolling or brushing in one direction, i.e ceiling to floor. This will help to minimise overlapping and create a smooth and even finish.
These paints can also be sprayed onto a surface to give a fine finish. Thin up to 10-15% with water, starting with 5/10% first of all.
This range of paints is suitable for exterior use but must be applied on a dry day as acrylics take longer to dry out completely than oil-based paints. Once dry the paints cure and are hardwearing. If used outdoors on metal the manufacturer recommends priming the metal with solvent-based red oxide primer.
