Edible Gold and Silver are classified as Natural Food Additives. Gold being classified as E175 and Silver as E174

Silver leaf is a white, lustrous metal and is facing a resurgence in popularity as an edible food additive and decoration. Silver can be used to garnish a number of dishes, giving them a contemporary or even a futuristic appearance. It is also widely used as a traditional decoration, particularly on Indian dishes, where it is known as Varak or Vark, intended to be consumed in festival celebrations and other grand occations.

Our edible Silver is made from pure Silver and is beaten between man-made materials (and not animal skin) until it's finer than a leaf of tissue paper. The edible leaf has been manufactured specifically for the food industry and adheres to strict safety standards. Safety certification can be provided on request.

Each booklet contains 25 leaves of loose Silver leaf measuring 80mm x 80mm.
